Customer Reviews

I just tried the medium size rear window upshade on my Buick Enclave 2010 and in general I'm happy with the result. I do have a few comments / pros / cons:
Size: I first got the large size and that was about ~1 inch too tall for the rear window (product description was accurate, but I took my chances since the medium size was not available on Amazon). I emailed the seller and they were super nice about it -- they actually sent me a medium size right away, no charge
Instructions: Medium size - at least in my case - was an almost perfect square, 22" each side. This is not what it says in the product description. I did realize that you can actually stretch it to the right size - I don't remember seeing this in the instructions and it really should be. It wasn't a big deal once I figured it out. It actually fit pretty neatly after that. (I'll try to post a picture)
Sytle: I have tried other car window shades and I certainly prefer this style since it doesn't have any moving parts. It also has a _somewhat_ built-in look, a definete plus. I have not tried the cling style shades, if this doesn't work for whatever reason I may give them a try.
Durability: I'm somewhat concerned about the durability of this shade. Since the window can go up / down while this is inserted, the fabric needs to be strong to withstand the abuse. Also, as I said above, I was able to stretch one of them fit in my rear window, but when I tried to stretch the second one, its steel frame snapped and broke. I was being fairly careful, so I don't think this was "human error". I will email the seller and see what they say about it. I'll update my review once I hear back.
Update Mar 7, 2011
It's been about a month since I installed this shade and I wanted to give an update. First of all, the seller did send me a medium-sized replacement (though there was some confusion and it took a little long, they were nice about it) that perfectly fit my car. Second, so far no problems with durability - my son doesn't play with the window all that much, maybe that helps. Btw he did remove it once, since it is easy to remove, so that is something to keep in mind. Putting it back in is straightforward, though. Also, at night lights look all blurred, but I have it on the rear window, and I don't sit in the back so that is not an issue for me. And you can easily remove it too. All in all I'm still happy with it (no moving parts!).

First i ordered the wrong size ( my bad). It took a while and a little e-pestering the company to get it switched out. When the right size finally came ( the one reccommended for my CRV ) i couldnt get it to fit in my window. After some head scratching the hubbs suggested i measure the window. According to upshades it should have fit. Hrmm. Then we measured the actual upshade only to find that it wasnt consistent with the online measurements and was actually one inch greater than staed in the product description. So theupshade actually exceeded my window size by 3/4 of an inch. Their bad.
Since it was quickly becoming a LOT more hassle than it was worth i decided not to return it a second time and just chalk it up to a loss.
